Endorsed by Friends, Families & Travellers, this course provides culturally-appropriate training tailored for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, groups often marginalised from mainstream support. Participants gain awareness of self harm and suicide within these communities, learn to challenge stigma and discrimination, and build confidence in supporting someone in distress.
The training also covers unique risk factors, strategies for creating an inclusive environment and ways to improve engagement with support services. Participants develop practical skills to respond effectively, understand the challenges in accessing local and national services, and enhance their competence and confidence in supporting individuals affected by self harm and suicide.

Men & Boys: Self-harm and Suicide Prevention
This course explores the complex, often misunderstood issues of self-harm and suicide among boys and men. While relevant to all, males face unique risks, pressures, and barriers that demand tailored responses.
Participants will gain insight into how distress manifests in males, shaped by stigma, gender norms, and mental health literacy. The course covers how to recognize signs, respond empathetically, and provide or signpost appropriate support.
Combining clinical insight, lived experience, case studies, and practical tools, this training equips professionals to better support boys and men - ultimately strengthening prevention and intervention efforts.
